School Facility Policy Summit

Target Audience: Statewide Leaders (150-200) from local government, state government, and school districts (as it is the day prior to OSBA's Bonds and Ballots Conference); leaders from environmental, historic preservation, community development, and housing groups; legislators

Schedule:

1-2 pm: Opening and Presentation of Policy and Legislative Agenda

2-3:30 pm: Three Concurrent Session with Panels on:

  • Goal 11 and Declaring Schools as "Infrastructure" and Joint Long Range Facility Planning
  • Renovation and Rehab for the Next 30 Years and Building for 50 Years
  • Educational and Cost Benefits of Shared Use

3:30-4 pm: Break- Green Vendor Demos

4-5:30 pm: Three Concurrent Sessions with Panels on:

  • Jurisdictional Boundaries, Transportation Planning and Costs, and Safe Routes to School
  • Leasing vs. Build and Alternative Financing Methods
  • Rehabbing and Designing for Flexibility

5:30-7 pm: Reception
